Ted Cabal

Ted Cabal

Wife: Cheryl (25 years)

Children: Daniel (22), Dave (19), John (17)

Pets: A dog named Pudgy

Hometown: Arlington, Texas

Current church: Cedar Creek Baptist Church

Current local church ministry: Guitarist for the church praise team

Hobbies: Reading, golf, guitar, bird watching, hiking

Ministry philosophy: To be transparent in conveying truth both intellectually and in my experience of Christian truth -- including where I’ve failed

Ministry passion: To see students think biblically the best they can and apply their mature thought to living the best they can for Christ

How you became a Christian: By reading the Gospels so as to debunk them

Most influential person in your life: Cheri, my wife. She is evidence of the clearest sort that God exists -- and loves me!

What books, besides the Bible, have most influenced you: God, Revelation and Authority by Carl F.H. Henry. This work demonstrated the need to me for theology to be apologetic, as well as exegetical.

Something surprising students might not know about you: At various times in the past, I have been an atheist, hippie and charismatic Christian. Southern Baptists were the only Christians who would have me.

Most interesting classroom moment: Finding a small carrot in my pant cuff

Favorite preacher: Adrian Rogers

Favorite musician: Phil Keaggy

Favorite authors: Augustine, Thomas Reid, C.S. Lewis, Charles Hodge

A word of wisdom for Towers readers: Don’t venerate men; venerate the Lord Jesus.
