Current church: Pastor at Iglesia Bautista Nueva Jerusalén

Ministry passion: Cross-cultural missions; teaching and preaching the New Testament

What do you like most about teaching: Interaction with thoughtful students who are graced with humility and humor

Most interesting classroom moment: While teaching in Norton 195, a repairman (on the roof) crashed through the ceiling, his legs dangling over the desks from the rafters.

What influenced your decision to come to Southern Seminary: DNA; purely foreordained (I'm a second generation Southern graduate/professor)

Most influential person in your life: My father. He is my hero.

What books, besides the Bible, have most influenced you and why: Word Pictures by A. T. Robertson (He shows the virtue and fascination of studies in New Testament Greek); The Gospel of Mark (NICNT) by William Lane (Lane demonstrates the unity of authentic scholarship and churchmanship)
