Something surprising students might not know about you: I served in full time music ministry for more than 18 years in Georgia and Florida before coming to teach at Boyce and Southern

What books, beside the Bible, have most influenced you and why: Biographies of Christian leaders and missionaries: "Through Gates of Splendor" (Jim Elliot), Hudson Taylor's "Spiritual Secrets," Billy Graham's biography.

What influenced your decision to come to Southern Seminary: I believe God has called me to train the next generation of music ministers. There is no better place to do this than at Southern. We have great leadership here and wonderful students.

Ministry philosophy: Music and worship ministry should first glorify God and second edify the saints

Ministry passion: Preparing others called to music and worship ministry to have a biblical understanding of their role and helping them to love the church. Music ministry is about ministering to people through music.
